The Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of Africa (CJCA) and the Union of Arab Constitutional Courts and Councils (UCCCA)

 

A cooperation agreement was signed on October 15, 2018, in Algeria, between the Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of Africa (CJCA) and the Union of Arab Constitutional Courts and Councils (UCCCA). An agreement initialled by Mr. Mourad Medelci, President of the Constitutional Council of Algeria and Vice President of the CJCA, and Mr. Hichem Faleh Eltel, President of the Constitutional Court of Jordan, current President of the UCCCA.

This important event was honored by the presence of justice Dr. Hanafi Ali Gebali, President of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt and Vice-President of the Executive Office of the Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of Africa (CJCA) for North African Affairs, and justice/ Said Marie Amr, Secretary General of the Union of Arab Constitutional Courts and Councils and Vice-President of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt, and justice/ Mahmoud Ghonaim, Vice President of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt.

The importance of this agreement between these two regional organizations is that they specialize in the field of constitutional control and their effective role in establishing the rule of law, and  the historical relations between the member states of these two organizations.
